San Francisco is going crazy!!!

I Love the City

I don't know how many times I've professed my love for the city. Please don't be mistaken, by the city, I'm referring only to the city of San Francisco.

I know I complain about the cold weather and the fog but that alone is not enough to persuade me otherwise. Sure, we're not as fashionable or sunny as LA and people are far less sophisticated and buzzling than NYC but look, SF is the charming hippy step sibling that people tend to underestimate as a serious contender as one of the greatest city in the US-- if not the world.

Don't believe me? Here's just a few reasons from my recent outings.

1. Fleet Week

Every year morale runs high as men and women in US Navy uniform invades our gorgeous city for a week. The festivities all lead up to a fantastic air show put on by the Blue Angels.

I usually steer clear of these crowd packed events but this year, Mr. Dubs and I went to check it out. I have to admit, it was pretty badass!

2. Second reason to love SF? It's just a gorgeous city all around. I wish I had better photos but unfortunately, this is all I have. Even with my crappy photos, you cannot deny how beautiful the city is.

3. The San Francisco Giants

'Nuff said. We're in the World Series, again, after winning in 2010. The entire city is buzzling orange and on game days-- it almost feels like everyone stops what they're doing to watch the game.

Even kitty-chan is sporting orange.

Tatcha Skincare Review

I first heard of the geisha inspired skin care line, Tatcha, from one of my favorite bloggers, Feather Feather. The idea of sharing beauty secrets with geishas had me intrigued and it was this picture of a barefaced geisha that had me sold.

I would sell my soul to the devil for skin as flawless as hers.

I came close to purchasing the trial kit a few times but I resisted each time. The kit is very reasonably priced -- for $49 you get to sample the entire regimen but I was afraid I'd fall in love and end up splurging on the full size line. Well if there's one good thing out of this experience-- I'd say that I clearly know myself very well-- I'm in love. More of that later.

Here's what arrived. I was impressed with the gorgeous packaging and the fact that it arrived next day. (Free shipping too!)

The sample kit included (taken directly from their site):

6 trial-sized essentials + beauty papers:

- PURE Camellia One Step Cleansing Oil - 15ml | 0.5oz
- POLISHED Gentle Rice Enzyme Powder - 3 x 1g packets
- POLISHED Classic Rice Enzyme Powder - 3 x 1g packets
- POLISHED Deep Rice Enzyme Powder - 3 x 1g packets
- RADIANT Deep Brightening Serum - 15ml | 0.5oz
- SUPPLE Moisture Rich Silk Cream - 10ml | 0.3oz
+PETAL FRESH Original Japanese Beauty Papers - 1 full sized pack | 30 sheets

It's been four days since I've started and I'm definitely loving it. My skin feels soft , supple and there is a visibly noticeable change to my face. Overall, my face looks brighter and smoother.

Here are my pros and cons:

Pro's

- My skin feels refreshed after the wash as opposed to the dryness and tightness that I've experienced with other brands

- Everything is unsecented. It's not that I don't enjoy nice smelling creams, it's just that so often they end up smelling like old people or really frou frou.

- I was super impressed with receiving my package the following day with a handwritten note and a coupon code. Tatcha is obviously extremely customer-centric which makes me feel slightly better about forking out the big bucks.

- My skin is showing visible improvements already and it's only been 2 days! Even Mr. Dubs commented on how my skin seems to glow.

Cons's

- It's going to cost me an arm and a leg

I don't think I need the entire regimen to maximize the results. In fact, I'm pretty sure that I will skip repurchasing the skin oil and the moisturizer but will definitely repurchase the enzyme face polish and brightening serum.

You can get Tatcha products either at Barney's or directly from the Tatcha website.

We Run LA

A trip from NorCal to SoCal is only a one hour flight away but somehow it feels like you're in a whole new place. I guess it's because here in SF, we don't have the sunny California weather.

Here we are, three stooges off to SoCal!

The first night we got there, we indulged in a liquid diet... NOT. Of those bottles, only the water and a bottle of wine was ours! We did however, have a suicide scare from Denise's sisters cat, which cleared us of any buzz we got from the wine.

While in Santa Monica, I found this Tory Burch Robinson coin purse in hot pink that I have been searching high and low for! They have an abundance of them in the store but they were all hidden in a drawer. I'm so glad I asked because I had no luck finding it anywhere else!

I love how there two credit card slots and two inner pockets. This little wallet is perfect for clutches and smaller purses!

While in LA, we also visited Lemonade in Venice we loved it so much. If only we had one in NorCal. Lemonade owners, hear our prayers!

We were feeling beachy after our meal and headed down to Venice Beach. We enjoyed the sand for a few hours and then walked the boardwalk where we participated in a commercial!

Man. I thought we had weirdos in SF....

We ended our night in K-Town but I didn't really get too many pictures but trust that Palm Tree LA is a must visit.

What I did capture though... are the gorgeous lamp posts at the LACMA. I've been wanting to visit this spot for so long and am glad to finally get a chance to get there!

As little monkeys that we are, we decided to strike a yoga pose. Vogue!

It was a much needed getaway. We wined, dined, shopped and enjoyed the weather. I couldn't have asked for a better trip or better company!
