Feast Your Eyes: Hard Knox Cafe

Nothing soothes a growling tummy quite like soul food and I'm lucky to say that there are plenty of soul food restaurants here in San Francisco! Our place of choice this past weekend was Hard Knox Cafe.

Hard Knox Cafe
2526 3rd St
(b/t 22nd St & 23rd St)
Dogpatch
San Francisco, CA 94107

The corn muffin definitely tops the list for the night but unfortunately still not better than Lucille's.

For my entree, I ordered the country fried steak with mac and cheese and candied yams. The country fried steak was not bad but nothing to write home about either. The candied yams were way too sweet but the mac and cheese was exactly how I like my mac and cheese-- cheesy and none of that fancy truffle oil!!

Here I am looking way too happy to be posing with root beer in a mason jar!

I also ordered the Purple Haze beer which is a raspberry wheat beer. If you ask me.. I didn't taste a hung of the raspberry flavor! Just all beer!

Here are some photos I found of me, Mr. W., and the emster from Speakeasy!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!
